Java is an object oriented programming language that was developed by Sun Microsystems. It lets you create applications that can work across a majority of operating systems. On the other hand, JavaScript is a scripting language and it was developed by Netscape. You can’t create an application using it and it mainly works inside a browser. A JavaScript powered browser reads the script and performs the instructions written in it. The biggest benefit of this scripting language is that it can also work together with elements that are not within its code. This can’t be done in Java.

These two coding languages are completely different from each other. If you install Java in your computer that does not mean it will be able to run JavaScript apps and vice versa.

1 Use SSL only within your cart. There’s a hell of a lot of debate around this. But one fact is clear: SSL page requests require more server cycles than non-SSL page requests. If your site gets tens of thousands of page and file requests per day, it adds up. Plus, if your whole site’s in SSL, things like Google Webmaster Tools won’t work. So only use SSL for pages that need it: Your checkout process, and any other pages where a customer has to enter confidential information.

2 Don’t use SSIDs in your page URLs. Ever. EVER. SSIDs are ugly things like ?sid=asdfweroi120398123582745 that end up on the end of URLs on some sites. They’re used to uniquely identify a user session, for purposes of tracking stuff like your cart contents. They’re also unnecessary until you put something in your cart. So don’t use them, at all, on the site unless someone’s added something to their shopping cart.

3 Use good validation. When the designer asks you to check if someone forgot to type in their address, don’t make some smartass remark about how you don’t want them as a customer anyway. Practice good defensive design: Regardless of what someone does wrong, be sure you give them clear guidance to correct it. Forgot to fill out a field? Reload the page with a note indicating the problem. Someone used a weird escape character? Fix it for them.

4 Cache everything you can. Cache pages. Cache images. Cache shopping cart data. If you can’t cache a whole page, cache regions of the page. Cache in memory and on disk. Cache, cache, cache. Otherwise great success will mean a lot of late nights and angry calls from your CEO demanding a faster-running site. Do it now, and save the pain later.

5 Give your database and your website separate homes. Put your database on one server and your website on another.

Life cycle of AJAX is more similar to a traditional GUI than a traditional web application. It has DOM objects who acts like GUI widgets. The used script has capacity to register even listeners on DOM objects and respond accordingly after manipulating DOM.
There is an important part of the event-processing cycle in server is evoked sometimes. As the server calls are asynchronous, the even listening and event responding are done separately.

The normal AJAX life cycle consists of following stages:

Query a subset of the DOM when using complex selectors drastically improves performance:

On the core jQuery function, specify the context parameter when. Specifying the context parameter allows jQuery to start from a deeper branch in the DOM, rather than from the DOM root. Given a large enough DOM, specifying the context parameter should translate to performance gains.

3. Live Event Handlers
Set an event handler for any element that matches a selector, even if it gets added to the DOM after the initial page load:
$(‘button.someClass’).live(‘click’, someFunction);
This allows you to load content via ajax, or add them via javascript and have the event handlers get set up properly for those elements automatically.
Likewise, to stop the live event handling:
$(‘button.someClass’).die(‘click’, someFunction);
